I can send mail but no mail is being received

Usually we find this is due to a misconfigured email client. Here's a general list of hints and tips to track down email setup problems.

  • Check you have the settings correct in your mail client. If you've set up additional mail accounts in cPanel other than your default username, you need to use the email address of the account you've set up and it's specific password, NOT your cPanel username and password.
  • Where supported, you can set up specific versions of Outlook, Outlook Express and Apple Mail automatically from within cPanel so that you won't get your settings wrong.
  • Check your mail via webmail at www.yourdomain.com/webmail/    Remember to use the email address and password and not your cPanel username if using an email account you have set up.
  • Try sending email from another account to your account - eg. from Google Mail
  • If you're getting an error message or error code when manually checking mail, please note it down and raise a support ticket as any info provided can help narrow down the issue. 'Error 0x800ccc0d' may not mean anything to you but can help us trace a problem.
