There's quite a few tools that run on the Mac but that allow remote access to your database on our servers but SequelPro is our choice.
Not only is it the best looking application we've come across but it's free and allows you to use ssh tunneling to create a secure connection to your database over which you can manage your database, perform queries and edit data. SequelPro follows on from an older package that many Mac database developers may be familiar - CocoaSQL - which is no longer in development.
