The mail servers at aegis deal with spam in two ways.
Firstly, we check if the mail servers connecting with our servers are listed at both http://www.spamhaus.org/ and http://www.dshield.org/. Our lists of rogue servers are updated frequently and automatically to ensure they are as up to date as is reasonably possible. This initial check removes the bulk of spam before it even gets to our mail server.
Secondly, our servers run Spam Assassin, which classifies mail that has got past the initial check. Spam Assassin can be configured in your cPanel to your tastes.
